I have simply been having a blast with the products from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogs! Today’s project is another masculine themed card which showcases the new Guy Greetings stamp set! I think this is fast becoming one of my favorites…even more so than the Open Sea stamp set! For this project, I also used the new Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper (DSP). This particular paper pack contains wonderful masculine themed prints.
To make this card, start with a piece of very vanilla cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of early espresso cardstock. Cut a 3 1/4 x 4 inch piece of the plaid paper from the Adventure Bound DSP pack. Secure all of these layers together with your snail runner. Stamp the classic card, using early espresso ink, on a scrap piece of very vanilla cardstock and cut it out with one of the Apothecary Accents. Leave enough room to stamp “dad” on the accent piece; use cajun craze ink for this. Sponge a bit of early espresso ink around the accent piece. Tie a bit of linen thread around the bottom half of the card and then secure the accent piece over the top using dimensionals. Stamp the “you’re a classic” phrase on a scrap piece of very vanilla paper and hand cut the words into square blocks; secure to the card as shown. For the finishing touch, add a few early espresso (neutrals collection) candy dots. Enjoy!
