Ornamental Pine

050Beautiful card designed by Cristy, one of my stampin’ colleagues. This was one of my favorite cards to put together this holiday season.  I love using nature images in my stamping so the pine needles and pinecones are right up my alley!  The card may look more difficult than it is….so if you want to re-create it, here are some instructions.
Cut a piece of soft sky cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Ink up the pine needles image with some mossy meadow ink, stamp once and then stamp again in a different spot without re-inking (that’s how you get the 2 different shades of green). Run a piece of All is Calm washi tape down the left side of the card, across the pine needs. Heat emboss the pine cones on a piece of sahara sand cardstock using early espresso embossing powder. Cut the pine cones out by hand and secure them to the card using dimensionals. Stamp your favorite Christmas sentiment on the bottom of the card (or the one that comes with the stamp set) using coastal cabana ink. Tie 2 pieces of linen thread together in a bow and secure to the pine cones using a glue dot! Enjoy!
