Christmas Ribbon Wreath

ribbon scraps wreathToday I want to share a fun card design to help you use up some of that scrap ribbon you have laying around…and I know you have some! If you’re like me, you save scraps of everything!  I have a whole container full of scraps so I have been busy figuring out different ways to use them up.  For this particular card, I used the wonderous wreath bundle (the stamp set and framelits). I used the framelits to cut out the wreath and the stamps to add a little sentiment to the card. You can really use any type of framelit or punch to create an opening on your card…I just chose a Christmas one because, well, Christmas is right around the corner!

To make this card, I started with a piece of garden green cardstock for the base of the card. I cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock…then, using the 2  wreath framelits, I cut out the  design. Now there are 2 wreath framelits…one cuts out the inside of the wreath and the other one cuts out the outside (outline) of the wreath. Save that little inside piece because you will be using it once you line the big wreath opening with ribbon. Ok…so take the piece of whisper white cardstock with the big wreath hole in it…flip it over and secure pieces of ribbon to the back side, across the hole. I layered my wreath with scrap pieces of red and green ribbon until the entire wreath opening was covered. Once you have all of the ribbon secured over the wreath opening, flip the card over and secure it to your garden green card base. Remember that little white wreath center you cut out earlier? Well, secure it to the inside of the wreath as shown (over the top of the ribbon). I secured it with a few glue dots. Add a little bow and stamp a Christmas sentiment…then, voila…your card is complete! Enjoy!
