Are you enjoying all of the fun products in the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog? I have just been having a blast! The festival of trees bundle seems to be very popular this holiday season as I have seen oodles and oodles of creations with it! The bundle comes with some fun stamp images and a coordinating tree punch. For this particular project I did not use the tree punch but I just love it when Stampin’ Up! bundles products together.
For this particular project, I wanted to showcase some non-traditional Christmas colors. My daughter happened to be playing around with this stamp set and color combo so this card was really inspired by her work. To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch piece of baked brown sugar cardstock and a 5 x 3 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Stamp one of the tree images on the white cardstock using the baked brown sugar ink. I achieved the light and dark brown colors using the stamp off technique…which means you ink up your stamp, stamp the image once and then, without re-inking, stamp the image again. Once you have the tree images stamped across the card, embellish them with a few champagne glimmer stars and a 1 x 5 inch piece of glimmer paper, a bit of natural ribbon and a button. For the finishing touch, stamp one of the Christmas sentiments in the lower right hand corner of the card using baked brown sugar ink. Enjoy!
