Swallowtail ~ Blendabilities

Here is the final card in my blendabilities series.  This card showcases the pumpkin pie and daffodil delight blendabilities markers….oh and the beautiful swallowtail stamp.  You can find out more information about these awesome coloring tools by clicking on this link Stampin’ Blendabilities.  If you love coloring, you will love these markers!

For this card I decided to heat emboss the butterfly image in black.  Just a little tip…don’t use a colored embossing powder if you plan on coloring the image with your blendabilities. Since the blendabilities are alcohol based, as you color over black embossing it pulls the black color onto your markers. So needless to say…the tips of my orange and yellow blendabilities are black!  Now you can use a white or clear embossing powder (as I showcased a few days ago). If you are looking for your image to be outlined in black…use the black memento pad (instead of black embossing).

To make this beauty…start with a piece of daffodil delight for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of basic black cardstock, for a matte, behind a piece of 5 x 3 3/4 inch whisper white cardstock. Stamp the swallowtail image onto the white piece using the black memento ink pad. Then simply start coloring with your blendabilities.  I started with the daffodil delight markers first (the yellow ones)…coloring and blending various parts of the butterfly. Then I switched to the pumpkin pie markers (the orange ones) to finish the coloring and blending process. I added a bit of gold dazzling details to give the butterfly a bit of sparkle and finished it off with a little sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this little blendabilities series!  Thank you for following along!
