Since we had so much fun at my blendabilities class this past week, I thought I would share some of the fun projects we worked on! This particular project was inspired by a blendabilities demonstration at the 2014 Stampin’ Up! convention in July! The project showcases the new coastal cabana and skin tone blendabilities markers. Yep…we actually used the coastal cabana markers on coastal cabana cardstock…it really makes the blues “pop!”
We started with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of the card. Next, cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of coastal cabana cardstock and emboss the corner garden stamp image using white embossing powder. Once you have embossed your image, grab your set of coastal cabana blendabilities and get to work! 🙂 Start with the darkest coastal cabana marker and randomly color/highlight various parts of the flowers. Shade and blend the dark blue color by using the medium and light coastal cabana markers. For the leaves, I used one of the lighter brown colors in the skin tone blendabilities pack. I colored various parts of the leaves with the brown and then shaded/blended it with one of the lighter skin tone colors…this helped to soften the brown and give it more of a subtle look. The great thing about the blendabilities is that you can shade and re-shade until you achieve the color or look you want. Stay tuned to my blog this week for the rest of the projects in my blendabilities series.
