I Love Lace

I love lace and I love everything else about this card! The new Stampin’ Up! catalog is just jam packed with good stuff! This little creation uses a variety of fun new products such as the I Love Lace stamp set and the Gold Soiree Designer Series Paper. The DSP is a combination of gorgeous gold foil and gold accented designs.

I thought I would do something a little different with this card…I made a little pocket on the front to slide that cute little tag into. Wanna learn how to make this card? Well, here’s what you need…start with a piece of crumb cake cardstock for the base of the card. Stamp the I love lace image on the left hand side of the card using crumb cake ink.  When you use the same color ink as the paper it provide a soft, subtle background for your project. Next cut a piece of the gold soiree designer series paper at 4 1/4 x 3 inches and 2 x 3 inches. Since the DSP has a design on each side of the paper, use one side for the 4 1/4 x 3 inch piece and the other side for the 2 x 3 inch piece. Secure the 2 x 3 inch piece to the bottom of the larger piece…make sure that you only secure the two sides and bottom (so you can slide the tag in). I used sticky tape to secure it because it has a stronger hold than snail adhesive.

For the tag, simply cut a 2 x 2 3/4 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock and punch out the top of the tag with the scalloped tag topper punch. Stamp a little sentiment on it using crumb cake ink and tie a bit of the calypso coral chevron ribbon to the top using a bit of gold bakers twine. Then I embellished the card with a gold foil butterfly, a little flower and some pearls. Oh…I almost forgot…I punched out a scalloped dot border with some scrap calypso coral cardstock I had (make sure your scrap piece is at least 4 1/4 inches long).
