Well I have returned from convention and I am so excited about all of the new products and techniques I learned! Don’t worry…I will share them all with you over the next several weeks. 🙂 The best part of convention is hanging out with all of my fellow stampers…and I believe over 6,000 of them were in attendance! Good times!!
So…getting back to business…this fun little design was something I put together prior to heading off to Utah. It showcases the Gift of Kindness stamp set which has some beautiful sentiments. The card is pretty simple to put together…
Start with a piece of basic black cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of pink pirouette cardstock, round the corners and stamp the flowery polka dot image onto the cardstock using the same color ink (pink pirouette). Once you have stamped the flowery image, emboss the cardstock using the polka dot embossing folder. Punch out a 2 1/2 inch basic black circle, set aside. Stamp the flowery image onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and then punch out part of the design with the 2 3/8 inch scalloped punch. Stamp one of the sentiments, using black ink, right in the center of the scalloped circle…then do a bit of paper piercing on the scallops. Since I choose a thank you sentiment (in the center of the scalloped circle) I decided to stamp the “thank you” image on a scrap piece of paper, cut it square, and adhered it below the circle image. I tucked a piece of a paper doily behind the circle and embellished it with a bit of black chevron ribbon. Pink and black are so elegant together, don’t you agree?
