It’s been awhile since I played around with my embossing powders and heat gun. So I got to thinkin’…I bet the new blackberry bliss color would look so awesome sponged around a bit of white embossing! Hence, this card was born! 🙂 Now I have to admit, I don’t really like it much even though I have had a lot of compliments on it. It was quite difficult to sponge such a dark, deep color over the top of the white embossed flowering flourishes image. The blackberry bliss color actually stained the white embossed image…that the first time I have had that happen! I do like the blackberry bliss and smoky slate colors together though. 🙂
So to make this card, start with a piece of smoky slate cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and emboss the big flowering flourishes image using white embossing powder. Sponge the blackberry bliss over and around the image…you may want to blot off the sponge a bit and practice on a scrap piece of paper before you use it on the card. Next, cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and stamp a little sentiment on it. Using the scalloped dots punch and some silver glimmer paper, I added a fancy little border to my sentiment. For the final touches, embellish with a butterfly, some silver glimmer paper shapes (use the little punch pack shapes), some candy dots and rhinestones. Enjoy!
