For the past couple of days I have been showcasing pictures of all of the wonderful projects I was busy creating with the June Paper Pumpkin kit called Pinwheel Party! It is such a fun kit to work with…so fun that I had to create a variety of projects using pieces of the kit and other Stampin’ Up! products from the new catalog!
Today, I will show you how you can use a variety of products along with the paper pumpkin kit materials to create super cute cards! This first card (pictured above) is my favorite and one that I will be giving to some friends of ours who are getting married on the Fourth of July! I actually came up with the firecracker idea by accident while I was making the pinwheel wreath I shared with you the other day. 🙂 I had snipped off about an inch of each pinwheel stick and laid the pieces on the table. I happened to lay them on some baker’s twine when I realized the stick pieces + the bakers twine = a cute little firecracker! 🙂 Hence, this card was born! The firecrackers are simple…just cut a little piece of bakers twine, place it inside the fancy stick piece and push a little glue dot inside to hold the bakers twine in place. I also used the adorable new stamp set called Be a Star as well as the stars from the paper pumpkin kit to create this super cute card!
The second card I put together is this adorable little star card! I again used the stamps from the Be A Star and paper pumpkin kit. The colors showcased in both of these cards are night of navy and real red….very patriotic! And of course the Be a Star stamp set comes with coordinating framelits which means that I didn’t have to cut out the glittery stars by hand! Yeah!!
The last card I put together showcases one of the cute little pinwheels! Well, the pinwheels are actually not little…I had to cut them down to about a 3 1/2 inch size so it would fit on the card. I used a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of the card. Then I cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of night of navy cardstock and embossed it with the big polka dot embossing folder (which is new). The stamped images are from the paper pumpkin kit…stamped with night of navy ink. Finally, I put the pinwheel together and adhered it to the card with glue dots. This is one of those cards that you want to hand deliver so the pinwheel stays in one piece!
