Pretty Pink Papillon Potpourri

This is one of my favorite stamp sets…Papillon Potpourri…or Elegant Butterflies (as I like to refer to it). The set contains all butterfly images. It is my go to set when I am looking for just the right little embellishment for my projects. 🙂

So let’s talk about how to make this card.  Start with a piece of pink pirouette cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and emboss it with the polka dot embossing folder. Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of the pink cardstock and a 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch piece of whisper white….these pieces will be the focal pont of the card.

Punch out 4 pink squares with the postage stamp punch and adhere them as shown on the card. Stamp up some petite petals using so saffron ink and punch them out with the coordinating petal punch. Adhere to the pink postage stamps. Cut a 1 x 3 inch piece of pink pirouette cardstock to make the little banner on the bottom of the card. Stamp a little sentiment using crumb cake ink. To make the butterflies, grab a scrap piece of white cardstock.  Stamp one large and one small butterfly image using crumb cake ink.  Using two different sponge daubers, sponge some pink and yellow ink onto the butterfly.  I sponged the pink on the top half of the butterfly and the yellow on the lower half. Punch out the images with the coordinating butterflies punches. Adhere to the card as shown…then simply embellish with pearls.
