At the beginning of this week I shared one of my favorite vintage card creations from one of my monthly card classes. Today, I want to share another vintage creation that ranks right up there on my list of favorites! The variety of gold products offered in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog really provides some great options for designing vintage style cards! You can check out all of the new products in the 2014 Occasions Catalog by visiting http://bit.ly/1fdsbQs
To make this card, start with a piece of crumb cake cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock…this is the piece you will do a variety of stamping and embossing on. I started by embossing the music notes in gold. The music notes are not a clear or wood mount stamp; they are actually mounted to a stampin’ wheel and rolled onto a project. I simply rolled the stampin’ wheel on the versa mark pad and then rolled the music notes on my paper and heat embossed them in gold.
For the background, I stamped one of the Gorgeous Grunge images using crumb cake ink and then sponged a bunch of different colors onto the cardstock…colors such as soft sky, crisp cantaloupe and so saffron. The card is embellished with a paper doily sponged with a bit of crumb cake ink, some gold washi tape and a vintage faceted button. The elegant butterfly is layered with gold vellum and a piece of the watercolor wonder designer series paper. The banner comes from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. I love the elegance of this card! Do you enjoy vintage style cards or the hip & trendy style cards?
Beautiful as usual!!
Thanks so much Linda! 🙂
Thanks so much Carol! It is one of my favorites too! The music notes always tend to make cards more elegant and/or vintage looking! Thanks for your comments, much appreciated 🙂
Lynn – I love, love, love this card. The gold music notes are beautiful and one of my favorite parts of this card, but the entire card is fabulous!
