One of my favorite single stamps this year is this very large star! Did you know that Stampin’ Up! sells single stamps as well as stamp sets? They do! Check out the single stamp Holiday Collection as they won’t around for long!
For this card, I wanted create a silver shimmery star so I decided to heat emboss the image. If you have never done heat embossing, it is super simple and it gives your images such an elegant look (especially when embossed in silver or gold). To heat emboss, you will need versa mark, an embossing buddy, some embossing powder and a heat gun. Rub the embossing buddy or a used dryer sheet over the place that you plan to stamp your image…this removes any static so the embossing powder only sticks to your image. Stamp your image in versa mark. Sprinkle the silver embossing powder over the versa mark…tap off any excess powder and then just heat! As you heat the image the powder will harden.
I used night of navy cardstock and heat embossed the star with silver embossing powder. Add a few rhinestones and a bit of white organza ribbon and you have yourself a simple but elegant little Christmas card. And…the great thing about the star image is that you can use it through out the year for any stamping project, not just Christmas!
