Ok…today I thought I would share a little fancier Christmas tag design! It’s fancier because it is actually cut from one of the labels framelits which means it opens up so that you can write your message on the inside! I have used this framelit technique on cards and thought it would be a great little technique to use for tags too!
Start with a piece of old olive cardstock cut at 5 x 6 inches. Score the 6 inch side at 3 inches and fold. Place the folded cardstock on the big shot and cut (as shown in pic) with one of the labels framelits. Make sure the framelit hangs over the fold…that way when you cut it out the fold will still be at the top (Check out the picture on the right for framelit placement). Once your tag is cut out, simply decorate it! I took some of the Seasons of Style Designer Paper and, using the next smaller size framelit, cut out a piece for the front of my tag. I used a few different punches to accomplish the layering on this tag: 2 3/8 inch scalloped circle punch, 1 3/4 inch circle punch and the ornament punch. The adorable little Merry Christmas ornament stamp is from the Best of Christmas stamp set…which I just love! And…I added a bit of the old olive organza ribbon (found on the clearance rack) as a hanger for my tag! Super simple and fun little design! Give it a try!
