So I thought I would change things up a bit today and post a simple and cute little project you can put together with a caning jar! I had been playing around with some crystal effects, ink and glitter when I thought….hey, I bet I could brush this stuff on the outside of a jar and it will still be transparent. I was super excited when it actually worked!
I basically took a bottle of crystal effects…which is a great medium that actually served as the “glue” for this project. I poured about 1/4 of the bottle into a little paper cup, added a few drops of pumpkin pie ink and then about a teaspoon or so of glitter. Mix well and then apply to the outside of your jar using a brush. Let it dry for a few hours and then decorate! For this particular jar, I actually stamped the leaf images, from the Wonderfall stamp set, onto vellum. I cut them out and decoupaged them to the outside of the jar…added a bit of ribbon and a cute little pumpkin on the bottom. The pumpkin is actually made from two different size oval punches. To finish off this project, simply add a flameless candle. Simple and adorable little project! Enjoy!
