Celebrate today! Today is Independence Day! A wonderful day to celebrate our freedom and America! So showcasing a “Celebration” card seems like a perfect way to kick off this Fourth of July…and if I would have chosen the red, white and blue colors it would have really been a great celebration card! But it’s still a great card nonetheless. 🙂
I have been working on using up some of the designer paper that just retired in May…so if you are looking for this paper in the catalog, you won’t find it (although it may be on the clearance rack so check it out). I designed a fairly simple layout. I started with a piece of So Saffron cardstock for the base of the card and stamped the “celebrate today” sentiment in the bottom left corner right away (before decorating)…that way I know where to put the DSP and other embellishments. I ran some of the floral district DSP (now retired) across the middle of the card and decorated it with pieces of tangerine tango and so saffron cardstock which I cut out with one of the itty bitty punches. I used the new beautifully baroque embossing folder for the crumb cake pennant. Then simply added a bit of linen thread and a button to embellish it!
