Layered Labels

This is one of my favorite cards from this month’s All Occasions Card Classes!  The Gingham Garden Designer Paper is so bold and beautiful…then throw in a few butterflies and…voila, you have yourself a gorgeous little creation!

The card looks pretty simple to make but I have to warn you that it’s a bit putzy…haha! I began with a piece of daffodil delight cardstock for the base of the card.  I cut a 4 x 3 piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper to serve as the focal point for this card.  Using the little finishing touches edgelits, I cut out two melon mambo colored pieces of trim and secured them to the back of the designer paper.

The “For You” sentiment comes from the layered labels stamp set!  First, I stamped the “For You” sentiment in night of navy…then cut it out with the coordinating apothecary framelit. Next, I stamped the same “For You” sentiment in melon mambo and punched out the sentiment using the large oval punch. I also punched out a scalloped oval in daffodi delight!  Then I simply took all three pieces and secured them, one on top of the other, to achieve the layered look! I stamped a few butterflies on daffodi delight cardstock and secured them to the card with dimensionals!  Fun card!  And…it’s available this month in the June 2013 ~ Card Kit #1!  Enjoy!
