Betsy’s Blossoms

While this is not a “new” stamp set, I decided to play around with it a bit this past weekend thanks to an inspirational post on pinterest! Betsy’s Blossoms is a carry over set…meaning that it was in last year’s annual catalog and has now carried over into this year’s catalog!  When I first saw the set, I have to be honest, it didn’t thrill me much. But the more I play with it, the more I like it! 🙂

To make this card, start with a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and randomly stamp the flower and leaf images. I used some bright and bold colors in this design: Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, Pear Pizazz, and Daffodi Delight. Plus I wanted to use up some of the recently retired ribbon…the island indigo ruffled ribbon. Once I finished randomly stamping the images, I embossed the cardstock with the honeycomb folder. Next, ink up the big starburst stamp from the Betsy’s Blossoms set, in daffodil delight ink, and stamp it on a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock. Punch out the image using the  2 1/2 inch circle punch. You can also stamp the leaf image over the top of the starburst (like I did). I also punched out a melon mambo elegant butterfly and embossed it with the polka dot embossing folder. Then simply add any sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes collection. Fun and bright little card!
