Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! I hope you have something special planned today with all of the mother’s in your life or…just simply for yourself! My kids are taking me out for brunch today! I have the best kids int he world and I can’t wait to enjoy a relaxing day with them!
I designed this card for the class I held yesterday! The ladies wanted to put together a few mother’s day cards so I designed a few cards that could be used for this awesome occasion! There was a great card featured in my Stampin’ Success magazine..this is the magazine for demonstrators. It was such a beautiful card that I just had to re-create it! However, I chose to use some of the retiring colors since that was the theme of my class!
First, I used the secret garden stamp and framelit set for the leaves. The leaves are stamped in certainly celery…one of the retiring colors…and then cut out with the matching framelits (no cutting by hand)! Next, I had the ladies punch out a flower with the blossom punch and emboss it with the lattice embossing folder. To give the edges of the flower a bit of curl we just wrapped each individual leaf around a pencil. The orange color sponged around the sentiment on this card is peach parfait…it is also the same color as the flower.
I also taught the ladies how to heat emboss the little paper doilies. For this card, we used the silver embossing powder. Basically you just blot the versa mark all over the doily, sprinkle on your embossing powder and heat to set! Now I have a great card to give to my mom today! 🙂
Thanks Lori! I came up with this idea from a beautiful card that I saw in the last Stampin' Success magazine! I loved the idea of embossing the paper doilies 🙂
Great card Lynn with so many lovely touches! I especially like the silver embossed doily! I have never seen that before!
