Artisan Embellishment Kit ~ Canning Jar

We are nearing the end of my Artisan Embellishment series…you could say I saved the best for last but I will let you be the judge of that. 🙂 When I started designing with the Artisan Embellishment kit I knew that I wanted to do something with one of the canning jars I had…and I have many!  Almost every embellishment on this jar is from the artisan kit!  The scalloped heart, the linen thread and the pool party blue arrow are the only non-artisan embellishment items! I started out wrapping a piece of the artisan lacy trim around the top of the canning jar.  This is my favorite item from the kit and I wanted it to be the main focal point on the top of the jar. Then I simply wrapped a bit of linen thread around it and tied a few of the embellishments to it.  

Next, I took the large paper heart doily that comes in the kit and secured it to the center, front of the jar with (sticky tape) to serve as the back drop. I stamped a few of the fancy “arrow” images in pool party on a 1 inch strip of whisper white cardstock and snipped the ends to make it look like an arrow. I embellished the arrow with a bit of primrose petals cardstock using the scalloped dots punch.  The primrose petals pink scalloped heart and the pool party arrow were secured first…then I added the other embellishments!  I will be giving this to my mom for Mother’s Day…although I haven’t decided what I will put in it yet!
