Here is the second creation from the Artisan Embellishment Kit. I love designing little gift boxes to go along with all of the cards that I make! 🙂 And Stampin’ Up! makes it easy on us as they have Kraft boxes that are already cut, easy to assemble and ready for decorating! Four boxes for $2.95, now that’s a great deal…check them out http://bit.ly/11DIMpK
So, let’s get back to talking about how to decorate this box! I decided to use my favorite designer series paper (DSP) called Tea for Two! I thought the sheets of rose DSP would compliment the embellishments in the Artisan kit. All four sides of the box are covered in roses. 🙂 Next, I took a piece of very vanilla cardstock and embossed it with the chevron embossing folder. This serves as the background for all of the embellishments on the top of the box.
The fancy crepe paper decoration, with the pink chevron images, was simple and fun to make. The creped filter paper is also very inexpensive at $2.95 and it is durable enough to stamp on it http://bit.ly/ZfUZnM! So, using the chevron oval, in the Oh Hello stamp set, I stamped two different shades of pink in a random fashion all over the crepe paper. Then I gathered the paper up in the middle, tied a bit of twine around the “stem” and then fluffed out the edges! Makes a great poofy decoration for the top of the box. Then I just decorated the rest of the box with quite a few of the Artisan Embellishment kit items: Paper doily, “Love” tickets, a bit of white lacy trim, and a pink and white rose! Of course I had to add a bit of linen thread across the top! Beautiful! I think my mother will love this…Mother’s Day is right around the corner you know! 🙂
