Welcome to my Artisan Embellishment Kit series. Over the next week or so I will be sharing a variety of projects I designed with all of the products contained in the awesome Artisan Embellishment Kit….and I used every single item in that kit…including the chipboard! 🙂 The kit is available in the Spring Catalog until May 31st. If you haven’t seen this kit, you can check it out at http://bit.ly/TOtl0w
This was the very first project I put together with the kit….I actually made two of these cards with products from the kit! I wanted to play around with the “bleach” technique which is why I chose to use a dark gray cardstock as the base. The stamp set is called “Oh Hello” and is one of my favorites! I started out using the little “arrow” stamps and bleach. I had to experiment for a bit with the bleach to figure out how it works. I took a small, maybe 1 inch deep, plastic container and lined it with paper towel…at least 3 sheets or so. Then I poured a bit of bleach over the paper towel. You want to make sure your paper towel is moist, not soaked, with bleach. Then simply use the bleach to “ink” up the stamp. I stamped the bleached image across the bottom of the gray cardstock and let it dry. The bleach discolors the cardstock but it does not harm the stamp at all! Sweet!
Once I finished with the bleach technique, I simply embellished the card with products from the Artisan Embellishment Kit: A little primrose seam binding ribbon tied around the card with a pink rose. The Oh Hello sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray over the top of a Pink Piroutte chevron oval. Add a bit of paper piercing around the oval and, tah dah, you have a very vintage style card!
