Dapper Dad & Soda Pop Tops

I am so excited about this masculine birthday card!  It is the first project I have designed with the new Soda Pop Tops found in the Stampin’ Up! spring catalog!  I ordered them right away but was a bit discouraged when I saw how big they were!  Then I learned that you can flatten them in the big shot!  Once I learned that little technique, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them!

Remember the Dapper Dad stamp set?  I have used it before on a few card designs.  In this set, there is a shoe, a bow tie and a watch.  The soda pop top, when flattened, makes an awesome little embellishment for the face of the watch…don’t you think? 🙂  It is simple to flatten them…open your big shot to tab 1, then place the soda pop top on the cutting plate with the pointy side down, place the other plastic cutting plate on top and run it through.  The soda pop top flattens nicely with the look of a beaded edge.  The soda pop tops are pretty inexpensive…check them out at http://bit.ly/XvoNvs
