This week I began to play around with a new technique I learned called “The Chalkboard Technique.” A big thank you to Kristin Chowanec (Inked Creations) for sharing this technique on her blog! It is actually a very simple and quick technique! To obtain the chalkboard look, you need the following supplies: Black cardstock, white embossing powder, a heat gun and some white craft ink. That’s it!
You begin by stamping your images on the black cardstock in versa mark and then sprinkling the white embossing powder over the images. Shake off any excess embossing powder and then set the images with your heat gun. Once you have embossed all of your images, take a sponge dabber and some white craft ink and gently rub it around your images and the edges of the card. You might want to practice using the craft ink on a separate piece of paper first before applying it to your project….you don’t want too much white craft ink on the sponge dabber.
Practice until you achieve the look you want! I will be sharing some of my other chalkboard technique creations throughout this week…so stay tuned!
It is very easy Lori! You need to try it! Kristin gave a great tutorial on her site as well 🙂
Looks good! You make the technique seem easy!
