Z-Fold Valentine

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  I apologize for the delay in posting…I have been having some technical difficulties the past couple of days! Today I have a fun little z-fold Valentine to share with all of you!  Z-fold cards are my favorite type of “fancy fold” card to make because they are quick and simple! Plus you can really decorate them anyway you choose!  The key to a z-fold card is deciding what type of “shape” to use on the front of the card. In this case, I used a stitched oval and embellished it with the heart and sentiment.

To make this card, start with a piece of Real Red cardstock for the base of the card. Score the card base at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4 then fold the 2 1/8 section back onto itself. Not sure how to do this…watch my original video on the z-fold at http://stamptasticdesigns.com/2015/05/04/z-fold-card-painted-petals/

Next, cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock at 2 x 5 1/4 and a  1 3/4 x 5 inch piece of heart patterned paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper pack. Secure these 2 pieces together and adhere to the flap as shown in this pic. Stamp the “Hello Love” sentiment in black ink onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and cut it out with a small oval from the stitched framelits set.  Cut out a heart shape from Real Red cardstock using either a framelit or punch (whatever you have on hand). You could also cut out a heart free-hand (if you don’t have any framelits or punches). Cut out a large black oval with the stitched framelits. Adhere the ovals and heart together, as shown, and secure it to the front flap of the card with some strong adhesive (I recommend the Tear & Tape). Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Basic Black cardstock and a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock for the inside of the card. For the finishing touch, embellish with some metallic enamel shapes. Enjoy!

Masculine Z-Fold Card

walk in the wildDid you watch the Z-Fold card tutorial I posted the other day? If you did, then you know to put together this masculine Z-fold card! All you need is a fun masculine stamp set like this one…A Walk in the Wild.  However, this particular stamp set will be retiring this year so don’t wait too long to get it!

To make this card, start with a piece of cajun craze cardstock for the base of your card. Score the card base at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4 then fold the 2 1/8 section back onto itself (not sure how to do this…watch the video). Next, cut a piece of early espresso cardstock at 2 x 5 1/4 and a  1 3/4 x 5 inch piece of the wood grain paper from the Adventure Bound Paper Pack. Secure these 2 pieces together and adhere to the flap as shown in this pic. For the decorative flap…cut a piece 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of cajun craze, a 3 x 4 inch piece of early espresso, and a 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 inch piece of whisper white (you will secure all of these pieces together to matte out your stamped images…after you complete the stamping). Stamp the moose image, using early espresso ink, onto the white cardstock and sponge some old olive and soft suede ink onto the image. Stamp a sentiment in the upper left hand corner, just above the moose, using early espresso ink. I used a sentiment from one of my other stamp sets as I was in need of a birthday card! For the finishing touch, I cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock for the inside of the card. Enjoy!
