Inside the Lines DSP

Hello Stampin Friends! Can you believe it is the last month of Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration?  Wow, time flies when you are having fun!  And this year’s Sale-A-Bration products have been a lot of fun!  So much fun that they are flying off the shelves!  They have already sold out of several items so if there is something on your wish list, you need to get it really soon!  And the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper has now entered the “low inventory” status. Yikes!  So I thought I better share this fun little card idea with you in case you wanted to get your hands on some of this fun paper!

To make this card, start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/2 x 2 inch piece of one of your favorite patterned papers. I happen to have some fun yellow polka dot paper that worked great with this card! Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper (the freebies Sale-A-Bration product). Color in the various images on the paper using some watercolor pencils and a blender pen. If you haven’t used a blender pen, it’s super simple. The pen comes prefilled with a solution designed to help you “blend” colors. Simply run the brush tip of the pen across the areas you colored with the watercolor pencils. It will help smooth out the lines and blend the color. Super fun! Next, cut a 1-3/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Old Olive cardstock; adhere the colored DSP to the old olive cardstock. Tuck a piece of a doily under the right side of the cardstock and adhere to the card as shown.  For the finishing touch, stamp a little sentiment on the card. Enjoy!

Avant Garden

Good Morning Stampin’ Friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend with family and friends! The holidays are always my favorite time of year!  This holiday season is special to me as it’s the first time in 20+ years that I have actually been able to have the entire week off of work! And, of course, I plan do to a bit of stampin’ and craftin’ this week! 🙂  So today I have a pretty little project I put together with one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets!

Yep, this is a sneak peek for you as Sale-a-bration doesn’t start until January 4, 2017! But I just had to start sharing some of the fun new products that are coming out! And this one of the stamp sets that you can earn for FREE!  Remember, Sale-a-bration is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year!  For every $50 you spend on Stampin’ Up! products, you get to choose a Sale-a-bration catalog item for FREE…and of course, I chose this stamp set as one of my FREE items!  In case you are wondering how I ended up with a new stamp set….well…One of the best things about being a demonstrator is that I get to order some fun new catalog items about a month before the new catalog goes live! 🙂

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron and a 3 x 3 inch piece of whisper white cardstock.  Lay the 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock on the white card base front. Tip: Put a little adhesive on the back of the 3 x 3 inch piece so it holds it onto the card front as you will be stamping over this layer so you don’t want it to move on you.  Randomly stamp the different images in the Avant Garden stamp set across the card and the 3 x 3 inch layer.  I used the following ink colors:  Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron.  Once you have the desired design, remove the 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock (with the stamped images on it) and adhere it to the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.  Then adhere the matted piece onto your card but be sure to line up the images.  For the finishing touch, embellish with a few pearls! Enjoy!

Honeycomb Happiness

honeycomb happinessGood Morning!  Today I have an adorable little card idea for you!   This little chickadee is one of the cute images in the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set. And…you can earn this stamp set for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 purchase!  Plus, it would be a great little stamp set to create Easter cards with! I actually put this card together for our local demonstrator meeting as my Sale-a-bration swap. Basically I made 6 of these and traded them for other designs with my demo friends! 🙂  The card is quick and simple to re-create!  Start with a piece of blackberry bliss cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of lost lagoon cardstock. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of the Wildflower Designer Series Paper (DSP) or choose one of your favorite patterned papers. Cut a 2 1/2  x 3 1/2 inch piece of blackberry bliss cardstock and a 2 1/4 x 3  1/4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Stamp the little chickadee in on your white cardstock using memento ink. Grab an aqua painter and watercolor the chick with hello honey ink. Color in his beak with a calypso coral or orange colored marker. Color in the feet with a neutral colored marker like sahara sand. Stamp a little sentiment using blackberry bliss ink. Matte the white and blackberry bliss cardstock together, add a little piece of a paper doily, and adhere the whole piece to your card with dimensionals. Enjoy!

SAB ~ Yippee Skippee

yippee skippee SABSpring is in the air here in Wisconsin! The weather has just been fabulous as we are in the beginning stages of the spring thaw. 🙂  So this means that I have been busy making a variety of colorful spring-themed cards, like this one made with the soft colors in the Sale-a-bration paper pack. If you need cards in a hurry, this is a super simple design that you can use with any patterned paper and stamp sets that you have on hand. Let me walk you through the measurements so you know how to cut your paper.

Start with a piece of soft sky card stock for the base of your card. Cut a 4 inch strip from a 12 x 12 piece of designer paper. In this case, I used the Best year ever DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalog. Cut 2 pieces of DSP that are 1 1/2 x 4 inches and a third piece that is 2 x 4 inches. Since the DSP is 2-sided, you can flip over the middle piece so that you have 2 different designs on your card. Or you can just leave the pieces all the same design…whichever you prefer! Secure those pieces to your card base as shown. Cut a 2 x 3 1/2 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and punch the top using the scalloped tag topper punch. Stamp your favorite sentiment on the tag using ink that matches your papers. Tie a bit of ribbon on the end of the tag and embellish with a few little flowers. Enjoy!

Irresistibly Yours ~ Artisan Style

artisan embellishments 13Have you played with any of the awesome Sale-a-bration products yet? If you have, then you know how wonderful they are!  If you haven’t, then you need to pop over to my Sale-a-bration page and check out all of the awesome ways you can earn FREE products! Like this one…the new Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper. I actually couldn’t believe that this was one of the FREE products we can earn!  It is simply gorgeous paper! The paper is white with white embossed images. You can do so many different things with this paper like sponge it, spritz it, brayer it or even stamp on it! Or, you can use it just as it is!

So let’s take a look at this project which showcases this fun paper. Start with a piece of crumb cake cardstock for the base of your card and stamp a little sentiment in the lower right hand corner. Cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of one of the beautiful Irresistibly Yours DSP patterns. I chose the leaves but you can choose any of the 6 different patterns. Grab some pink ink, I used blushing bride, and sponge it all over the DSP. Once you have sponged all of the color on the DSP simply take a tissue a wipe off the excess…the ink won’t stick to the white embossed images. Secure the sponged DSP to the upper part of your card. Cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock and secure it over the bottom part of the DSP but just above the sentiment you stamped. Tuck a little piece of a paper doily under the 1 x 4 inch piece before you secure it to the card. For the finishing touch, add some of the beautiful flower trim from the Artisan Embellishment kit. Enjoy!
