A Sara Thing

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  Today I want to share some of the beautiful cards created with the 2017 April Paper Pumpkin kit called “A Sara Thing.”  This kit was designed by Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’ Up! and it was absolutely stunning!  The kit contained all of the materials you needed to create 12 colorful cards!  And the kit showcased one of my favorite techniques…watercoloring!  If you watched the video I posted the other day, then you have already seen how easy it is to watercolor on embossed paper.  Well this kit has some fun embossed paper to play with!

Have you joined Paper Pumpkin? If so, then you are familiar with the fabulous kits that come every month!  If you haven’t joined, what are you waiting for? 🙂

Adoring Arrows

Hello Stampin Friends!  Hope you are having a great start to your weekend!  Today I want to share a few little projects that I created with the stamp set in the January Paper Pumpkin kit!  If you are not familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it is a monthly subscription program for crafters!  Each month you receive a fun little crafting kit sent right to your home! The kit contains everything you need to create the projects for the month. And, this month, the kit focused on Valentine’s Day. It contained all of the materials, stamps and ink you needed to create 24 adorable little treat bags just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Aren’t these adorable?  I made up a few of these as gifts for my attendees at class this week. I plan on making up the rest of them this weekend with my grandson.  He will have a blast filling these up with candy! Now you can use the materials in the kit to create other projects too!  I like to show my Paper Pumpkin subscribers a few different things that they can do with the kit materials and the stamps.  This month I decided to create some fun little cards with the stamp set that came in the kit.

Now the kit came with the calypso coral ink and the stamp set. I simply used some of my own cardstock and embellishments to create these three quick and simple cards! I love that I can use the stamp set over and over to create all sorts of fun things!  And the stamp sets are exclusive to the paper pumpkin kits so you can’t get them anywhere else!  Now is the best time to get started with paper pumpkin as there is a Sale-a-bration special!  The 3-month pre-paid subscription is only $55 (regular price is $59.00)!  This discounted price is good until March 31, 2017 plus when you order a 3-month prepaid subscription, you get to choose a Sale-a-bration catalog item for FREE!

Cute Conversations

January 2016 PP Cute Conversations ProjectsGood Morning! My grandson has kept me sooooo busy for the past few days that I haven’t been able to post any fun projects for all of you!  Those little 3 year olds sure can keep ya hopping! 🙂  Today I want to share some of the fun projects I created with materials from the January 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit called Cute Conversations.  As you can see, this particular kit had a Valentine’s Day theme. The kit contained enough materials to make a variety of little heart treat pouches and a banner. I decided to create a few cards and treat pouches with the materials, instead of a banner, so that I can give out some fun little gifts to the ladies at my Valentine’s Day class this week.

The heart treat pouches were super simple to make and you can easily recreate them if you have a large heart shaped framelit. Simply cut out 2 hearts from cardstock or pretty patterned papers. Stamp some fun Valentine’s Day or Love-Themed images and sentiments on the hearts. Adhere the sides of the hearts together (starting from the bottom) with some type of strong adhesive. Be sure to leave the top part of the hearts open so you can tuck some treats in there. For the finishing touch, add a few embellishments like banners, sequins, ribbons, etc.

Since I didn’t make the banner, there were lots of fun materials left to play with. I simply added a few of my own supplies, like cardstock and designer paper, and created all of these fun cards:

Oh What Fun ~ Project Ideas

Today, I will show you how to create some quick and simple Christmas cards with the Oh What Fun tag kit. This adorable kit contains all of the supplies you need to create 30 Christmas tags.  To get started, I recommend that you assemble all of your tags first. There are 10 different tag designs so you will be using one tag from each of the 10 different designs to create your cards. In the end, you will have 10 cards with 2 coordinating gift tags.Oh what fun tag cardsI used all of the materials that came in the tag kit but I also had to add a few other supplies, like cardstock, so that I could make some of the tags into cards.  As you can see, there are traditional Christmas colors such as the real red and garden green but there is also a non-traditional color in this kit called Mint Macaron. Be sure to have these colors of cardstock and ink on hand so that you can create coordinating cards and tags. So let’s take a closer look at the first 5 projects:

oh what fun tags and cards design 8
Start with a piece of garden green cardstock for the base of your card. Stamp some of the holly berry images on the front of the cardstock using garden green ink. Add a paper doily to the top of the card and secure one of your pre-made tags to the front using dimensionals.
oh what fun tags and cards design 10
Start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Tie a bit of silver cording trim around the mint macaron lace trim on each of the tags. Adhere the Oh What Fun tag to the front of your card using dimensionals. Note: Save all of the Jingle Bells for embellishing your tags.
oh what fun tags and cards design 9
Start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Emboss it with the Softly Falling Textured embossing folder. Cut a 2 1/2 x 4 inch piece of mint macaron cardstock to matte out one of your tags for the card; adhere the tag to this piece with a snail runner or other adhesive. Adhere the matted piece to the center of your card with dimensionals.
oh what fun tags and cards design 7
Start with a piece of real red cardstock for the base of your card. Secure a paper doliy to the center of the card front using a bit of snail or other adhesive. Secure one of your tags to the doily using dimensionals.
oh what fun tags and cards design 6
Start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Emboss the front of the card with the softly falling embossing folder. Secure one of your tags to the card with dimensionals. Then embellish it with some of the silver sequins that came in the kit.
