Be Merry

The Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog is LIVE!  There are so many fabulous products in this new catalog. Yes, I know…I say that all the time but it’s true!  Lots of fun die cuts, stamp sets, embellishments, paper, and oh so much more!  Today I want to share a super fun and pretty kit that is featured in the new catalog.  It’s called “Be Merry” and the kit includes everything you need to create 12 pretty Christmas ornaments! You could also use these as gift toppers instead of ornaments. There are so many fun things to do with them!

So pretty, hey?  They are so simple to create too!  Each rosette is already cut, scored and ready for you to assemble!  They even have an adhesive strip built right in! There are a total of 12 rosettes and 2 different designs which means you can create 6 of each design. All of the embellishments are pre-cut and ready for you to assemble as well! I would recommend using a hot glue gun for assembling but a strong, fast drying liquid glue would work well too!

These would make such a great gift this holiday season or use to decorate your Christmas tree!  It’s a fun kit that you are sure to enjoy! No stamps needed for this kit!

September 2015 Paper Pumpkin

2015 Sept PP treats bagGood Morning! Today I wanted to share an adorable little Fall-themed project I put together with the September Paper Pumpkin kit called Wickedly Sweet Treats. Yes, I know it’s October already but I actually saved the September kit to share with my stampin’ friends at my Halloween treat class this month. September’s kit contained all of the materials to create 10 adorable little treat bags like this one! And the stamp set that came in the kit had a variety of fall and Halloween themed images so you really could do a lot with them! I thought these would make fun little table decorations for Thanksgiving!

2015 Sept PPTypically I also create a variety of alternate projects using the stamps and materials from the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. However, this time I only created one project which was a Halloween project for my class. The stamps that came in last month’s kit were very small…small enough to fit on the little tags for the treat bags.  However, they were perfect size for stamping in these little circles that I created on my patterned paper.  You can create any type of “window” simply by punching out  a few different shapes in some patterned paper or cardstock. Once I punched out the circles, I adhered the patterned paper to some vanilla cardstock and stamped the little Halloween images right in the circles!

Interested in having a Paper Pumpkin kit sent directly to YOU in the mail? Yes, you can craft in the comfort of your home! Each month, Stampin’ Up! sends you a surprise crafting kit in the mail. The kit comes complete with stamps, ink, adhesive and all of the materials you need to create the projects! Get started with a monthly subscription or you can join the FUN  with one of the prepaid subscription options that works best for you! Prepaid subscriptions make perfect gifts too!  When you purchase a prepaid subscription, Stampin’ Up! will email you the code as well as an electronic gift certificate!  Simply print out the gift certificate and write in the code! Perpetual Birthday Cards

perpetual birthday calendar card2Did you enjoy the perpetual birthday calendar post the other day? I hope so because today I want to share a few more fun little things you can do with the stamp set that coordinates with the kit. I actually held a little calendar class last month. Participants made the adorable little calendar as well as some fun birthday cards.

perpetual birthday calendar card1You need to have some birthday cards to send out to those people on your calendar, right? Right! Well we put together some very simple birthday cards using some of the fun images in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar photopolymer stamp set. Grab a few sheets of whisper white cardstock as we will be using this for the base of the cards. You will also need a few different colors of ink. For the butterfly card, I chose the following colors: Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate, So Saffron, and Crisp Cantaloupe. For the flower card, I used: Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate and So Saffron. To make the cards, ink up the images and randomly stamp them on your white card base as shown. I added some punched out flowers or a butterfly (to coordinate with the stamped images) and then embellished with a few sequins from the kit.  That’s it!  These are quick and simple little cards you can put together in a snap! Be creative with it! Enjoy!

Layers of Gratitude ~ February Paper Pumpkin

February PP 2015How fun was last month’s Paper Pumpkin kit?!?!  It was a fabulous kit which included all of the materials you need to create 8 adorable fancy fold cards with coordinating envelopes.  The stamp set in the kit had so many super fun images for us to play with! The accordion style cards were already cut and scored for us.  We just simply stamped the fun images on each section of the card!

Besides the fun projects contained in the kit, I also put together  some other projects with just the stamps and ink!  For this kit, I decided to just use the 2 ink spots and the stamps to create a few quick and simple cards…the only other material I added was the white cardstock.

Vintage Butterfly

artisan embellishments 11This is, by far, my favorite creation this month!  A vintage style card made with the Butterfly Basics bundle and materials from the Artisan Embellishment kit. There is just something so elegant about vintage style projects and this one was super simple and fun to make! Wanna re-create it? Well here is what you need to do…

Start with a piece of blushing bride cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of the Typeset Designer Series Paper (DSP) or stamp your own “paper” with the Dictionary background stamp. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock and tear it on an angle as shown.  It’s the torn look that really accents this card. Stamp some of the vintage images from the Butterfly Basics stamp set using crumb cake ink. Punch out a decorative label from the Typeset DSP. Cut a little piece of a paper doily from the Artisan Embellishment kit. Stamp the adorable little butterfly, in blushing bride ink, on a scrap piece of very vanilla paper and cut it out with the coordinating framelit. Sponge a bit of crumb cake ink on all of these pieces:  the crumb cake cardstock, butterfly, decorative label, DSP, and paper doily. The sponging gives everything a worn or tattered look. Once all of your sponging is complete, then layer all of the pieces as shown.  Tie a bit of linen thread around the crumb cake cardstock before your secure the butterfly. Enjoy!
