2017-2019 In Color Creations

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  By now you have probably seen some of the fabulous new products in the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog.  If you haven’t seen them, you can pop over to my website at www.lynndunn.stampinup.net or browse the online catalog available on the right hand side of this website.  I am always so excited to see the new catalog and this year was no exception! One of my favorite things to check out are the new In Colors!  Each year Stampin’ Up! retires a set of In Colors and then, of course, gives us five new ones!  A fun little color refresh to look forward to each year!  This year’s colors are some of my favorites…Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide. How fun?!?!  Plus they have the new Fresh Floral Designer Series Paper which is all in the new colors!  So, of course, I had to make a few quick cards with them.

To make these cards, I simply started with whisper white cardstock for the base of the cards. I cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of each of the different colored papers. Then, on the 5-1/4 inch side I cut off a 2 inch piece, flipped it over, so that when I adhered them to the card front I had two different patterns…one for the top of the card and one for the bottom. I then cut a 3/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white for each of the five cards, stamped a little sentiment on it, and adhered it across the seam where the 2 DSP patterns meet. For the finishing touch, I added one of the fun new bitty bows!  They were quick and simple to create!  Enjoy!

Got Stickers?

This week I am sharing a few fun projects I created with products from the Eastern Palace suite. One of the products in this suite is a package of gold stickers…yes, stickers.  I have to say that I was not too excited about stickers, that is, until I saw them.  These stickers are gold and they are absolutely stunning. They also have a great adhesive that doesn’t peel or lift up. I typically don’t use stickers but these are so elegant and a great accent for any project! Let’s take a closer look at a project I created with a variety of stickers that came in the bundle.

To make this card, start with a piece of the new Fresh Fig cardstock as the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. I placed the large circular sticker on the right hand side of the white cardstock before cutting out the beautiful medallion image on my big shot. By doing this, I ended up with a pretty gold outline for the die cut image plus a little bit of gold within the image. I also used some of the stickers on the left hand side of the cardstock to create a pretty gold border. And, of course, for the finishing touch, I used a gold flower sticker on a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock to create the flowery embellishment for the card.  The rest of the card contains all different stamped images from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.

The Eastern Palace bundle is quite fun to play with!  There are soooo many different ways you can use the stamp images to create absolutely stunning cards.  This bundle of products is available at a special price until May 31st!  Plus you get a free gift! Take advantage of one of these special bundle options! You will be glad you did!

You’ve Got This ~ In Colors

Good Morning! Happy Monday!  And what a Happy Monday it will be once you check out my latest creations! Ha!Ha! 🙂  Today I have some fun cards for you which showcase the new 2015-2017 In Colors and a beautiful new stamp set called You’ve Got This!In Color Creations You Got ThisSo what do you think? Do you like the colors, the stamp set or both? I decided to showcase how you can use the same card layout over and over again…just switch out the colors!  To make these cards, first you have to choose a color.  For the purpose of instruction, I will choose the Delightful Dijon color (but you can use any color). Start with a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock for the base of the card. Note: You will use the same color ink and cardstock to create the card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Stamp one of the sentiments from the You’ve Got This stamp set in the lower right hand corner of the white paper. Ink up the large blotch image with Delightful Dijon and use the stamp off technique…first stamp it on a scrap piece of paper and then, without reinking it, stamp it onto your white cardstock (this lightens the image). Next ink up the flower image from the set and stamp it directly ontop of the blotch. Tear the top of the cardstock as shown in the picture above. Tie a pretty little bow around the white cardstock and secure it to your card base with adhesive. That’s it!

Here are some pics of the projects up close….enjoy!

Kind Koala ~ In Colors

koala in colorsDid you know that these beautiful In Colors are going to be retiring this year? Yep, it’s true! No more Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe after May 2015! This really isn’t new as Stampin’ Up!’s In Colors are only available for a 2-year time period. But it sure is a bummer as I have really grown fond of these colors. But the good news is that there will be another set of fun colors for us to play with in June!

Since these colors will be retiring in this year, the theme for our demonstrator swap was to create projects showcasing these fun colors.  This particular project is the one I swapped with the group. To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of the card. Next, cut a 1 1/2 x 4 inch piece of the crisp cantaloupe and strawberry slush designer paper and a 2 x 4 inch piece of the baked brown sugar. Secure these pieces to your white card base as shown. Cut a 2 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and punch out the top with the scalloped tag topper. Stamp the koala image using baked brown sugar. Stamp a few swooshes from the Work of Art stamp set over the top of the koala using crisp cantaloupe ink. Cut a 2 x 4 1/2 inch piece of baked brown sugar cardstock and punch out the top with the scalloped tag topper. Layer the two tags together with dimensionals. Add a bit of ribbon and twine to the top of the tags and secure to your card. You can also embellish that little flower with sequins, buttons or pearls. Enjoy!
