Crafty Creations

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  Did you have a good weekend?  AI sure did! This weekend I was blessed to have the opportunity to spend some time with my mom. We crafted on Saturday and Sunday! I love spending quality time with her! And we had a blast!  Look at all of the beautiful cards we made! 🙂

How cool is that?  We created with a little bit of “old” (retired) products and a little bit of the new (current) catalog products!  Now many of these cards I have shared with you in other posts on this website. However, there was one particular project that was brand new…and that’s the card right in the front of the pic created with the Wetlands stamp ste! Let’s take a look at how to create it!

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of the Serene Scenery Designer Paper that looks like a beach or water. Place a dab of adhesive on the back of this 3 x 3 piece and stick it to the middle of the white card front (just use a little bit of tape so that you can easily remove it).  Stamp the sandpiper image across the card and the serene scenery paper using black ink. Once you have stamped the image all the way across the card, carefully peel it off the card front. Cut a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of pool party cardstock; adhere the serene scenery piece (with the stamped images) onto the pool party cardstock. Then adhere to the card; be sure to line up the images.  For the finishing touch, stamp a little sentiment on the bottom! Enjoy!

Inside the Lines ~ Dragonfly Dreams

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  It’s the start of the NEW Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration!  Wahoo!  My favorite time of year!  Today I wanted to share a little project that I created for my new catalog open house!  The project showcases the Dragonfly Dreams bundle of products and the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I have to admit that I wasn’t really fond of the DSP when I first saw it as I thought “Wow, it will take a long time to color all of those images!” But then I found a really quick and fun way to use that DSP.  Let’s take a closer look.

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the flowery pattern from the Inside the Lines DSP. Note: This DSP is FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration!

Grab some sponges and the following ink colors:  Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Mint Macaron. Sponge each of the colors across the DSP as shown. Stamp the dragonfly image on a scrap piece of white cardstock, using blushing bride ink, then cut it out with the coordinating framelit. Cut a detailed dragonfly, using the coordinating framelit, out of a piece of vellum. Adhere the body of the vellum dragonfly to the blushing bride one with a few glue dots. Adhere a delicate white doily to the center of the DSP. Adhere the dragonfly with a few stampin’ dimensionals.  For the finishing touch, add a little sentiment banner and embellish with pearls. Enjoy!

Dragonfly Dreams

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  Happy New Year!  The start of a new year is always an exciting time!  It is filled with new beginnings and, for us crafters, that means new Stampin’ Up! catalogs!  Yes, the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration start in just a few days! So to celebrate the launch of the new catalogs, I have a quick and simple project that showcases a fun way to mix a little bit of the “old” with a little bit of the “new.” The Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the annual catalog and the NEW Dragons Fly Dreams product bundle from the Occasions catalog make such a perfect combination!  This new bundle of products coordinates so well with a variety of different products in the current Annual Stampin’ Up! catalog. I knew I wanted this bundle of products as soon as I saw it! It will definitely be a popular set!

To make this card, start with a piece of Soft Suede cardstock for the base of your card.  Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of one of the patterned papers in the Serene Scenery Designer Series (DSP) pack. Stamp the Dragonfly image on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Early Espresso ink. Sponge the dragonfly wings using a bit of So Saffron and Pool Party ink. Start sponging from the middle (with So Saffron ink) and then switch to the Pool Party ink for the outer part of the wings. Cut out the dragonfly with the coordinating framelit. Adhere the dragonfly to the center of your card as shown. Cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of Soft Suede cardstock and stamp a sentiment on it using Early Espresso ink.  For the finishing touch, embellish with a few candy dots.
