Swirly Bird

Good Morning!  Have you browsed through the new catalog yet? If you haven’t seen it, you can view it right on my website. Just click on the catalog icon located on the right hand side of this site. There are some simply fabulous new products in there!  The project I am showcasing today features products from the Swirly Bird bundle. If you are on Pinterest, I am sure you have probably seen some adorable projects made with this set.  The stamp set has some fun images that you can use to create all sorts of fun shapes and designs! For this particular project, I thought I would keep it simple but I will have lots to more share with you in the coming weeks.

swirly bird

To make this card, start with a piece of pool party cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of wisper white cardstock. Grab some watermelon wonder, tip top taupe and pool party ink pads to stamp with. Start by stamping some of the fun swirly images onto the cardstock. Randomly stamp some flowers and the splatter images. Be sure to rotate colors. Cut out 2 of the swirly designs, using Tip Top Taupe, with the coordinating thinlit set and your big shot embossing machine. Adhere these swirly pieces over your stamped images as shown. You can add any sentiment you choose, I used a sentiment from the new Love & Affection stamp set. For the finishing touch, just add a few pearls! Enjoy!

Open Sea

Did you have a wonderful Mother’s Day?  I sure did!  And, of course, now that Mother’s Day has come and gone that means that Father’s Day will be here before you know it!  So today I have a a masculine card design to share with all of you…just to help you start getting prepared! This particular project showcases the Open Sea stamp set which is one of my “go to” stamp sets for masculine themed cards. The interesting thing about this project is the designer paper I used. It was one of the patterns in the Lullaby Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack. Yes, I said Lullaby DSP 🙂  open seaTo make this card, start with a piece of Hello Honey cardstock for the base of your card.  Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of soft suede cardstock. Randomly stamp the images from the Open Sea stamp set all over the soft suede cardstock using the same color ink (soft suede). Sponge a bit of soft suede ink around the edges of the cardstock as well. Cut a 2 x 5 1/4 inch piece of the Lullaby DSP and tear one of the 5 1/4 inch sides…sponge it with some soft suede ink. Secure this piece to the center of your card as shown. Cut a 1 x 5 1/4 inch piece of hello honey cardstock and stamp a fun sentiment on it. Punch a little soft suede word window and adhere to the yellow cardstock…snip off one of the ends so it is flush with the edge of the yellow cardstock. Tie a bit of linen thread around the end of the cardstock as shown. Adhere this yellow piece to the card with dimensionals…be sure to overlap the bottom of your DSP. For the finishing touch, add a little button or embellishment. This would make a great Father’s Day card…just change out the sentiment! Enjoy!

A Mother’s Love

Mother’s Day is right around the corner! If you are looking for a beautiful Mother’s Day stamp set then check out a Mother’s Love. There are some fun images in this set. Plus, it involves two-step stamping which is a fun little technique. Today’s projects showcase a few of the images in this set so let’s take a look…mothers love gift setCard:  Start with a piece of blushing bride cardstock for the base of your card. Simply cut an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock in half. Your card will measure 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches when closed.  Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of the beautiful flowery paper from the Something Borrowed collection. Secure this piece to your card base. Stamp one of the flowery images from the Mother’s Love set onto a 3 x 3 inch piece of whisper white cardstock….use sahara sand or smoky slate ink. Grab the coordinating stamp…the “fill in” stamp…ink it up with blushing bride and stamp the overlay onto the first image.  This second image will color in your flower. Punch out the image using the 2 1/2 inch circle punch and leave enough room to stamp a little sentiment. You can also do a bit of paper piercing around the circle if you like. Secure a paper doily in the center of your card. Add the circle to the doily with a few dimensionals. For the finishing touch, add a few roses from the Artisan Embellishment kit or just simply leave it as is!

Tag: Start with a 2 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Punch the top using the scalloped tag topper. Stamp the same image on the tag that you used on your card.  Stamp one of the sentiments using blushing bride ink. Add a bit of chevron ribbon to the top of the tag and a little flower trim. Now you have a coordinating card and gift tag…all you need is the gift! Enjoy!

Bravo! Congrats!

BravoToday I have a bold and bright colored project to share with all of you!  I designed this card with the specific goal of using some of the very large patterned papers that I have on hand.  Sometimes it is very challenging to utilize large patterns so feel free to use this layout for any papers that you may have on hand! But be sure to coordinate the colors!

To make this particular card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/1 x 4 inch piece of tempting turquoise, emboss it with the arrows embossing folder and secure it to your card base. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper (DSP). Next, cut a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of blackberry bliss cardstock which will serve as the matte for your DSP.  Secure these pieces together and adhere it to the card as shown. I tilted it on an angle to give it a little different look. Cut a 1 1/2 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and stamp a few fun sentiments on it from the Bravo stamp set. Cut a 1 3/4 x 4 inch piece of blackberry bliss cardstock to matte out your sentiments. Secure this piece to the card, across your DSP, as shown. For the finishing touch, embellish with a few buttons! Enjoy!
