Petal Passion Cards

If you have been following me for awhile now then you know that making cards is one of my favorite things to do! I love to try new techniques, play around with fun fold designs and try my hand at more challenging card ideas. But I lately I am drawn to quick and simple card ideas especially ones that make you go “WOW.”

Like these cards, created with the Petal Passion Memories & More Card pack. You may have heard me talk about the Memories & More Card packs before as I had showcased a variety of different cards using the Sweet Soiree Card Pack.

But I think this card pack is one of my favorites! The Petal Passion Memories & More Cards are just absolutely stunning and, of course, they coordinate with the stamp set and other products in the suite. Each card is double sided and contain beautiful images and fun patterns that you can use to create greeting cards. It’s like having a pack of pre-cut and stamped papers that you can immediately use on your projects. All the prep work is done so you can just get busy creating!

Here are a few of my favorites:

The card pack comes with 72 cards; 52 cards measuring 3 x 4 inches and 20 cards measuring 4 x 6 inches.  I was able to create 27 greeting cards from the pack. Now I bet you are wondering why only 27? Well that’s because I layered some of the pretty card patterns together just like I would layered patterned papers together. Plus I used some of the fun patterned cards and sentiments on the inside to create a complete card!  It was so fun!  And the 3 x 4 inch cards that come in the pack fit perfectly on a regular A2 card size (5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches) without any cutting or trimming.

You can do so many things with these card packs. Here’s a little Facebook LIVE video session I did just sharing some of the fun ways you can use the card pack.

One more thing…these card packs are very inexpensive! At $10.00 for the pack, you have the ability to create lots of cards FAST!  Get your card packs at http://www.lynndunn.stampinup.net and start creating stunning cards today!

Heartfelt Love Notes

It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow!  Did you make a card for that special someone in your life?  If not, you still have time! I shared a couple of love note ideas with you earlier this week so be sure to check them out if you are in need of some quick and simple ideas. This year I made over 50 Valentine’s which I think is a record for me. Haha! But it was a lot of fun! The last set of Valentine’s I created were projects I put together using the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Heartfelt Love Notes!  It was a card kit last month which is my favorite type of kit to play with!

The cards in the kit had some fun little pockets to tuck in a little love note for that special someone. The cards were also designed with some non-traditional Valentine’s Day colors which included a bit of copper, black, rich razzelberry and flirty flamingo. There were 16 cards in the kit! I certainly enjoy putting together the projects as shown in the kit. However, I also like to get a little creative with the materials and design other projects. Here are a few of the other fun projects I created.

I can’t wait to see what the February kit will be! Speaking of the upcoming kits…

Simple Love Notes

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! If you need some last minute Valentine’s Day card making ideas then you have come to the right place. I have a few quick and simple ideas that you can put together in a snap! These little cards will help you spread the love this Valentine’s Day.

All of these little love notes were created using little note cards measuring 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches. However, you can adjust the designs to fit any sized cards that you have on hand. Just add a few more hearts to create a larger sized card.  So the first card, pictured above, was created with the Heart Happiness stamp set. The concept is simple…grab a few different colored inks and stamp different shaped hearts right down the center of the card. It’s a fun way to use your heart stamps. For the finishing touch, add a “love” sentiment cut from some gold glimmer paper. You could also use the sentiments in the Painted with Love gold vinyl sticker pack.

This next card showcases a fun way to use your patterned papers and stamp sets. Simply cut out three different sized hearts. Cut the larger heart from a piece of designer paper. Cut the other hearts from cardstock. You can use your punches or die cuts to create the hearts. Then simply layers the hearts together to create a fun look!

For this next project, I used the stamp images in the Sure Do Love You stamp set. The set has a beautiful heart image that you can use as a “frame” for other stamped images.  The card showcases a fun way to use small and large heart shaped images.

This final project showcases a fun way to use up your pretty patterned papers. Since I used little note cards, I cut my patterned paper at 2 x 4 inches. If you are using a larger sized card, just adjust your measurements so the patterned paper is a 1/2 inch smaller than the size of the card front. Then simply add a sentiment and embellish it with a little gold heart cut from some glimmer paper.

Sweet Soiree

Have you ever bought some patterned paper that was so pretty you just couldn’t cut it up? Me too! There are some patterns that just weren’t meant to be cut into little strips to fit on a card. That’s the problem I had with the new Sweet Soiree Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There was one particular sheet of this patterned paper that was so pretty, I decided to cut out the little cake designs to use as embellishments on my card.

Doesn’t this cake make a beautiful little accent on the card? And it was simple to cut out too. Wanna re-create it? Well let me tell you how. Start with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Petal Pair textured embossing folder. Stamp a little sentiment on the white cardstock. Cut a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Powder Pink cardstock for a matte. Wrap a bit of silver baker’s twine around the white cardstock and adhere to the card front as shown. Oh, and don’t forget to tuck a little piece of a doily on top before you adhere it to the card front. Add a little 1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of DSP on the bottom to coordinate with the colors on the card. Then embellish it with the beautiful cake image you cut from a piece of the Sweet Soiree DSP. Enjoy!
