A Little Wild ~ Honey Bear

There are soooo many amazing products between the Stampin’ Up! holiday and the annual catalog I can’t decide what to play with first!  A good problem to have! So today I thought I would share an adorable little card that showcases some fun images from the A Little Wild Bundle. This bundle of products has some absolutely adorable baby animal images in it which are perfect for baby cards as well as other fun occasions! I designed a variety of projects with this bundle for my club members but I saved this one to share with all of you! Soooo cute!  I hope you enjoy it!

To make this card, start with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 – 3-3/4 inch piece of So Saffron cardstock, emboss it with the 3D Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhere to the card front. This 3D embossing folder gives the impression of “honey” dripping behind the bear. So cool! Next, cut a 1 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock, wrap some linen thread around the left half of this piece, tie a little bow and adhere it across the lower part of the card as shown. The little bear was stamped on a piece of crumb cake cardstock, using Chocolate Chip ink, and cut out with the coordinating framelit.  You can use the layering squares or stitched framelits to cut out a matted focal point for the bear. The bee hive was stamped on a piece of So Saffron cardstock and cut out with the coordinating framelit. Then I just embellished the card with some burlap ribbon and a string of gold sequins. Super cute and fun!

Moon Baby

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  Happy Friday!  Today I have an adorable little baby card to share with you. This card was created at the request of one of my stampin’ friends. She has been asking me to make a baby card for months…and now I finally have!  I hope she enjoys it and I hope you do too!  This particular card was created with the Moon Baby stamp set and features a bit of watercoloring. It was inspired by a project showcased in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog.

To make this card, start with a piece of basic gray cardstock for the base of your card. Emboss the front of the card with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. Take a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and stamp the moon baby image onto it using black ink. Cut out the image using one of the Lots of Labels Framelits and your big shot or other embossing machine. Once the image is cut out with the label, stamp a few more stars and a sentiment on it. Grab your watercolor pencils and simply color in the baby and the moon. I used the watercolor pencils with a blender pen. The blender pen allows me to shade the areas and “drag” color across the image to lighten it. I colored in areas that I wanted to “highlight” on the baby using the watercolor pencils and then used the blender pen for lightening and shading. It takes a little bit of practice but it’s a lot of fun to play around with.  For the finishing touch, I added some Wink of Stella to the stars and around the moon to make it glitter. Enjoy!

Brides & Babies

Today I want to share some of the fun cards I received in this month’s team swap!  Every month our team gets together for a bit of stamping fun!  We always swap cards with each other and there is usually a theme.  This month’s theme was Brides and Babies. We had the option to design either a wedding or baby card.  I chose to design a wedding card (which I shared with you the other day) but most of my team decided to design baby cards…and they were simply adorable!  Check them out…

Aren’t they adorable?  The cards showcase a variety of fun stamp sets, colors and techniques!  Now we also had a few cards created with the bride in mind.  These cards were just as fabulous and the baby ones.  I especially love the white on white look as it is so elegant for weddings or anniversaries.  Check them out…

Springtime seems to be the time of year for brides and babies.  We are expecting the arrival of our new granddaughter any day now!  In fact, my daughter is overdue already!  Hopefully she will grace us with her presence very soon.  And now I have plenty of fun baby card ideas to choose from to help welcome her into the world. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
