Smashbook Class

Had so much fun with all of these ladies last night making prayer journals and brag books!  Both tables were just buzzing with laughter and smiles!  I love getting together with everyone!

I had two different designs for the ladies to choose from.  We started with the spiral bound books from the This & That product suite in the annual Stampin’ Up! catalog….then we just decorated them up! I provided them with the basics and they took it from there!  Sooooo much creativity around these tables!

Here are some of the finished products from last night…I love that each one is a bit different 🙂

My Amazing Family Smashbook

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been working on putting together a variety of smashbooks for an upcoming event!   This particular smashbook focuses on family!  I wanted to design a brag book of sorts to capture some awesome memories of my family!  Let’s start with the cover of this book!  I used a variety of products from the Epic Day This & That product suite.  The designer paper in this product suite has different designs on each side of the paper…and…all of the paper colors coordinate! The DSP in this suite is one of my favorites!  And the best thing about these little smashbooks is that the pages on the inside of the book are made with the same DSP!

Ok…back to the cover…I decided to cover the book using a variety of the patterns found in the This & That DSP. I used a few scraps of DSP to cut little pennants and added a bit of washi tape to give it more color!  “My Amazing Family” was actually printed from my computer.  The great thing about my printer is that I am able to print right on cardstock!  So…I used a piece of very vanilla cardstock and printed an entire page of “My Amazing Family” sentiments.  I cut them out on the big shot using the new deco labels framelits! Then I just decorated the cover with a variety of flowers and butterflies! I also tied a different colored ribbons to the binding of the book just to add a bit more color and pizazz!

The inside of the box contains 5 different tabs which I labeled as:  Me, Parents, Siblings, Children and Grandchildren. You can label them however you would like!  Of course right now I have only filled the children and grandchildren section but I am working on completing the other ones! 🙂  I also decided to add a little family tree right at the beginning of my book.  Using the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set, I stamped a few of the tree images, in Early Espresso, on the inside cover.  Then, I just added my family to the trees!  This has been a popular little page in this book!  The ladies are super excited to make this!

Prayer Journal

I had such a great time sharing a variety of Holiday Catalog projects with you this past week! I hope you enjoyed the little holiday series! Today I am going to shift our focus from holiday projects to smashbooks! I have been putting together a variety of different smashbooks for an upcoming class that I will be holding on August 21st!  For more information on the class, click on the Events tab at the top of this page.

Smashbooks are the latest craze in the crafting world!  And…I have completely fallen in love with them!  This particular smashbook was designed by another demonstrator, Ronda Wade.  And I just loved the prayer journal idea!  The inside of this journal is just amazing!  There are pockets to hold prayers, cards or anything else you would like to have in your journal. The journal is made from the Epic Day products found in the annual catalog:  Designer Paper, Washi Tape and of course, the hard cover journal itself!  You can find all of these products in the Epic Day Product Suite! And…I have a few more spots left in my August class if you would like to make your very own Prayer Journal!
