Hey Chick

Hello Stampin’ Friends! Today I want to share a fun little project created with the “Hey Chick” Sale-a-bration stamp. This is the most popular Sale-a-bration stamp set!  Just an FYI…there are less than 2 weeks left of Sale-a-bration so be sure to take advantage of all of the amazing products and deals!

I decided to make it a little vintage style card so I hope you enjoy it! To make this card, start with a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Randomly stamp some of the images from the Timeless Texture stamp set around the outside of the Crumb Cake cardstock using Crumb Cake ink.  Stamp the bushy haired chick in the open spaces on the cardstock. Stamp the chick on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut it out with one of the oval framelits and sponge it with a bit of Crumb Cake ink. Run a piece of Very Vanilla Trim across the center of the Crumb Cake cardstock and secure the entire piece to the front of the card. Cut out a scalloped oval framelit using Blushing Bride cardstock. Adhere the two ovals together and secure to the middle of the Crumb Cake cardstock. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla Trim and tie it in a knot, trim the ends and adhere to the card with a glue dot.   For the finishing touch, stamp a sentiment on a 1/2 inch piece of Blushing Bride cardstock, trim the end into a little banner and adhere it to the card as shown. Enjoy!

Inside the Lines DSP

Hello Stampin Friends! Can you believe it is the last month of Stampin’ Up’s Sale-A-Bration?  Wow, time flies when you are having fun!  And this year’s Sale-A-Bration products have been a lot of fun!  So much fun that they are flying off the shelves!  They have already sold out of several items so if there is something on your wish list, you need to get it really soon!  And the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper has now entered the “low inventory” status. Yikes!  So I thought I better share this fun little card idea with you in case you wanted to get your hands on some of this fun paper!

To make this card, start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/2 x 2 inch piece of one of your favorite patterned papers. I happen to have some fun yellow polka dot paper that worked great with this card! Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper (the freebies Sale-A-Bration product). Color in the various images on the paper using some watercolor pencils and a blender pen. If you haven’t used a blender pen, it’s super simple. The pen comes prefilled with a solution designed to help you “blend” colors. Simply run the brush tip of the pen across the areas you colored with the watercolor pencils. It will help smooth out the lines and blend the color. Super fun! Next, cut a 1-3/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Old Olive cardstock; adhere the colored DSP to the old olive cardstock. Tuck a piece of a doily under the right side of the cardstock and adhere to the card as shown.  For the finishing touch, stamp a little sentiment on the card. Enjoy!

Inside the Lines ~ Dragonfly Dreams

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  It’s the start of the NEW Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration!  Wahoo!  My favorite time of year!  Today I wanted to share a little project that I created for my new catalog open house!  The project showcases the Dragonfly Dreams bundle of products and the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I have to admit that I wasn’t really fond of the DSP when I first saw it as I thought “Wow, it will take a long time to color all of those images!” But then I found a really quick and fun way to use that DSP.  Let’s take a closer look.

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the flowery pattern from the Inside the Lines DSP. Note: This DSP is FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration!

Grab some sponges and the following ink colors:  Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Mint Macaron. Sponge each of the colors across the DSP as shown. Stamp the dragonfly image on a scrap piece of white cardstock, using blushing bride ink, then cut it out with the coordinating framelit. Cut a detailed dragonfly, using the coordinating framelit, out of a piece of vellum. Adhere the body of the vellum dragonfly to the blushing bride one with a few glue dots. Adhere a delicate white doily to the center of the DSP. Adhere the dragonfly with a few stampin’ dimensionals.  For the finishing touch, add a little sentiment banner and embellish with pearls. Enjoy!

Avant Garden

Good Morning Stampin’ Friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend with family and friends! The holidays are always my favorite time of year!  This holiday season is special to me as it’s the first time in 20+ years that I have actually been able to have the entire week off of work! And, of course, I plan do to a bit of stampin’ and craftin’ this week! 🙂  So today I have a pretty little project I put together with one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets!

Yep, this is a sneak peek for you as Sale-a-bration doesn’t start until January 4, 2017! But I just had to start sharing some of the fun new products that are coming out! And this one of the stamp sets that you can earn for FREE!  Remember, Sale-a-bration is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year!  For every $50 you spend on Stampin’ Up! products, you get to choose a Sale-a-bration catalog item for FREE…and of course, I chose this stamp set as one of my FREE items!  In case you are wondering how I ended up with a new stamp set….well…One of the best things about being a demonstrator is that I get to order some fun new catalog items about a month before the new catalog goes live! 🙂

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron and a 3 x 3 inch piece of whisper white cardstock.  Lay the 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock on the white card base front. Tip: Put a little adhesive on the back of the 3 x 3 inch piece so it holds it onto the card front as you will be stamping over this layer so you don’t want it to move on you.  Randomly stamp the different images in the Avant Garden stamp set across the card and the 3 x 3 inch layer.  I used the following ink colors:  Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron.  Once you have the desired design, remove the 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock (with the stamped images on it) and adhere it to the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.  Then adhere the matted piece onto your card but be sure to line up the images.  For the finishing touch, embellish with a few pearls! Enjoy!

Post-It Note Holder

post it note holderGood Morning!  Today I have a fun little gift idea to share with you.  It’s a post-it note holder! I actually designed this particular project as a 3D Make N Take for a demonstrator meeting I had last month.  It’s super simple and fun to make!  It makes a great gift…I mean who doesn’t need post-it notes, right?

2016-03-01_1932To make this project start by measuring your post-it notes.  The measurements that I am about to provide are for a 3 x 3 inch post-it note. If you have larger post-it notes, you will have to adjust the sizes. I also use half of the stack of post-it notes (if you want to use a full post-it note stack, simple increase these measurements by 1/4 inch). So…for half of a 3 x 3 inch post it note stack, start by cutting a piece of cardstock at 6 3/4 x 3 1/4 inches. I used calypso coral cardstock to coordinate with the colors in the Wildflower Fields Designer Paper. One the 6 3/4 inch side, score the cardstock at 3 1/4 and 3 1/2 inches. Add a few pieces of strong tape (like the Tear & Tape or double sided tape) to the back of your post-it note stack and adhere the post-it notes to one of the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch squares on the inside of the cardstock.  Fold the other 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch square over the top of the post-it notes (so it forms the cover). Then just decorate the cover!  I cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of the Wildflower Fields DSP and secured it to the top of the post-it note holder with a bit of snail adhesive. Next I cut a piece of large ribbon large enough to go completely around the post-it note holder (as shown). Secure the ribbon to the front and back cover of the post-it note holder with some double sided tape (the tear & tape works perfect). Leave a little bit of extra ribbon hang off the holder so you can add a cute little clip on the side (so you can open and close it). For the finishing touch, I added a little sentiment and a flower. Enjoy!

Honeycomb Happiness

honeycomb happinessGood Morning!  Today I have an adorable little card idea for you!   This little chickadee is one of the cute images in the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set. And…you can earn this stamp set for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 purchase!  Plus, it would be a great little stamp set to create Easter cards with! I actually put this card together for our local demonstrator meeting as my Sale-a-bration swap. Basically I made 6 of these and traded them for other designs with my demo friends! 🙂  The card is quick and simple to re-create!  Start with a piece of blackberry bliss cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of lost lagoon cardstock. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of the Wildflower Designer Series Paper (DSP) or choose one of your favorite patterned papers. Cut a 2 1/2  x 3 1/2 inch piece of blackberry bliss cardstock and a 2 1/4 x 3  1/4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Stamp the little chickadee in on your white cardstock using memento ink. Grab an aqua painter and watercolor the chick with hello honey ink. Color in his beak with a calypso coral or orange colored marker. Color in the feet with a neutral colored marker like sahara sand. Stamp a little sentiment using blackberry bliss ink. Matte the white and blackberry bliss cardstock together, add a little piece of a paper doily, and adhere the whole piece to your card with dimensionals. Enjoy!
