2015 Spring Stampin’ Extravaganza

We had such a blast this past weekend at the 2015 Spring Stampin’ Extravaganza! Each participant made 32 projects in 7 hours!  Yes, 32!  So let’s see…18 ladies + 32 projects each for a grand total of 576 projects!  WOW!  We were busy for sure! 🙂 Well, it was super fun and everyone left with a bunch of beautiful projects and gifts.  Take a look at some of the fun pictures from this event! Enjoy!

spring stampin extravaganza guest boxes
Each guest received one of these handmade and personalized boxes. They were perfect for storing all of the projects they were making at this event! These boxes are made from two 12 x 12 pieces of cardstock. For the top: simply score a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock at 2 inches all the way around, snip all four corners up to the 2 inch score line (so that it forms a flap on each end of the box), and secure the flaps to the inside of the box. Repeat this process to make the bottom of the box but be sure to cut the 12 x 12 cardstock down by 1/8 of an inch so the top fits nicely over the bottom. You can really decorate the box any way you like! I simply cut a 4 x 12 inch piece of designer paper and covered the middle of the box top, I added a few embellishments and a personalized name tag. For the finishing touch, I added some pretty ribbon tied in a bow.

Spring Crafter’s Escape ~ Gifts

So yesterday I shared a variety of stamping projects that we put together at our very first crafter’s retreat!  I hope you enjoyed the projects, I know I did!  Today I want to share some of the fun little gifts that I made for all of the attendees! 🙂  You can easily create these super simple projects and wow your party guests!  Let’s take a look!

The first gift I gave the ladies was on Friday night!  Those of us that stayed over night at the log cabin received a special little gift that I decorated with the Gingham Designer Series Paper and an adorable little spring flower!

The gift is actually the Tag a Bag Accessory Pack…all I did was add a bit of designer paper, some ribbon and a little flower.  The flower was cut from one of the flower dies that is retiring at the end of this month.  It was a nice little way to start out the retreat!

The next gift I provided was on Saturday morning.  I wanted to welcome the rest of the ladies to our escape.  Everyone received this beautiful little gift box filled with ribbon!  I loved creating this gift box as I used some of my favorite designer papers…Gold Vellum and Watercolor Wonder!  The little flowers on top of the boxes were made from crepe paper. I simply punched out 4 little pansies, sponged them with crisp cantaloupe, and placed a little gold brad in the middle. Then I just crunched them up into a 3-D flower. The nice thing about the crepe paper is that the flower holds it’s shape once you scrunch it!

The final gift was the “thank you” gift! Of course you know I love to decorate those little chevron bags…and I just loved how these turned out!  Each little gift bag was personalized with everyone’s initials. I used the flower die again and coastal cabana designer paper. I simply cut out the flower pieces, layered them with dimensionals, added a bit of ribbon and their personalized letter.  They turned out wonderful!  Everyone was super excited! Especially since there was a little gift inside the bag! I just love making little surprises for my guests!

All of these projects are super simple to make! You can find the supplies you need by visiting my Stampin’ Up! website at www.lynndunn.stampinup.net Have fun creating!

May 2014 Crafting Escape

Wow!  We had an awesome time at our first spring crafter’s escape which ran from Friday, May 16th – Saturday May 17th!  We made 30 projects during the event!  And we were able to enjoy simply breath taking views of the beautiful Cedar Valley Retreat Center!  Here are a few pics from the event!

We started the event at the beautiful Cedar Valley Retreat Center. Over 100 acres of gorgeous scenery.

A few of us stayed overnight at the retreat center. So, on Friday night we had a little shoebox swap.  A shoe box swap means that each of us designed a project, then provided all of the materials for everyone to make it.  These are the shoe box swaps from Friday evening…

Oh my gosh that was a blast on Friday night!  Plus I gave all of the attendees a few little goodies throughout the event!  I will share all of the goodies with you tomorrow…there’s just not enough room for all of the pics on this post!

On Saturday we created the bulk of the projects when the rest of the stampers joined us!  We started out the day with a stamp-a-stack.  We each put together 12 cards…4 of each of 3 different designs!  The cards at the top of the pic were designed by Debbie Jorns and the tulips on the bottom were designed by me. We had a chance to play with the new blendabilities markers which were super fun! Here is what we made…

Julie Lulich provided the next project for the group.  An adorable little criss cross card box. And Kim Sedlachek provided a few cards for us to put in there! Although I have to say that by the end of this retreat, we had more cards made than we could fit into this adorable little box. 🙂

Did I mention that we stayed in the log cabin?  Super cute little place!  Check out the pic below! The log cabin sleeps 11 people plus we had plenty of room for crafting!  After a morning of projects, we walked from the log cabin to the retreat center for lunch.  The retreat center provides all home cooked meals which was wonderful!  After lunch, we headed back to the log cabin to finish out the day with more fun projects!

We started out our afternoon with a fun little accordion style card box/file.  I guess I am not really sure what it is called but it was a great little gift I received at leadership in January so I decided to share it with the group!

The accordion file folder holds 4 little note cards. The picture on the left shows you the inside of the project.  I simply cut off the tops of 4 standard sized envelopes and secured them together with sticky tape to achieve the accordion look.

I decided to make it a watercolor theme.  I used the Happy Watercolor stamp set, watercolor note cards with envelopes and designer paper for this project. Super fun!  The ladies loved that their initials were on the front of this project!  Here is what we put together…

The final projects for the day were created by Michelle Stark.  She designed 5 cards using all of the 2012-2014 In Colors…you know…the ones that are retiring at the end of this month! 🙁  We will all miss those colors but we know that there are 5 new fun colors to replace them!  Here are Michelle’s creations…

We had such a great time crafting together this weekend!  We shared laughs, projects and tons of food!  I can’t wait to put together another retreat this fall…although this time we will hold a day retreat.  We have lots of ideas about our fall retreat so watch for announcements towards the end of summer!  We are going to change up the retreat a bit as we learned so much just putting this one together!  Have a wonderful week!
