Quilted Christmas

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  The NEW holiday catalog has been LIVE for 8 days now so I hope that you had an opportunity to take a look at all of the fabulous new products!  One of the things I love most about this year’s catalog is that many of the products can be used all year long! Yep, that’s right, they are not just for Christmas or the Holidays.  One of the new product suites that caught my eye was the Quilted Christmas. It has a homey, handmade feel to it. And I just love how the products can be used for Christmas or any other occasion. In fact, the first couple of cards that I made didn’t have anything to do with Christmas. Let’s take a look!

The stamps and die cuts in the Christmas Quilt Bundle make it easy to create fun quilt patterns on your cards. For this card, I started with a piece of Pool Party cardstock for the base of the card and embossed the front using the new Quilt Top embossing folder. Next, I simply stamped the different quilt patterns on a 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inch piece of white cardstock, using Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party ink. I cut my cardstock to this size because it’s the exact size of the large quilt patterned framelit. Using the large quilt patterned framelit die, I cut a blank piece of white cardstock so that I would have a white outline of the quilt pattern. I then mounted the stamped images behind the white outline. The stamped images fit perfectly!  Then, using the same large framelit, I cut out another quilt pattern from a piece of So Saffron cardstock. This time I took the little pieces of yellow cardstock, the squares and triangles, and glued them into the open spaces on my project. One you have created your quilt pattern, simply embellish the card any way you like!

Here is another project created with the Quilted Christmas product suite. As you can see, there is nothing Christmasy about this card! For this project, I started with a piece of Garden Green cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Next, I cut out a 1 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the Quilted Christmas DSP and matted it out on a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Pool Party cardstock and a 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Then I used the star patterned framelit to create the focal point on the card. There is a cute little framelit designed to represent a spool of thread. I simply cut out two different colors and wrapped some twine around them…then adhered them to the center of the DSP with a few glue dots.

These were super fun cards to make!  I hope you enjoyed them!
