Easter Message

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  Easter is just a few weeks away! Can you believe it?  So this week I want to focus on sharing a variety of Easter themed projects with all of you.  Today’s project showcases the Easter Message stamp set and a simple way to use vellum on your projects. Vellum is so pretty on projects but it is difficult to adhere because most adhesive will show marks right through the vellum. So, instead of using adhesive, I secured the vellum to the project with some brads.

To make this card, start with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3 x4 inch piece of Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp the cross image on the white cardstock using Smoky Slate ink. Using a sponge dauber, lightly sponge a bit of Smoky Slate ink on the cross and a bit of Wisteria Wonder ink on the scarf. Cut a 3 x4 inch piece of vellum. Grab some black Staz-on ink and stamp the bible verse in the center of the vellum. Note:  You need to use Staz-On or some other type of permanent ink when stamping on vellum. Regular ink will not stick to the vellum and will smear and wipe right off. Ask me how I know! 🙂  Overlay the vellum onto the white cardstock with the image of the cross. Use a few little brads in each corner to secure the vellum (no adhesive needed). 🙂  Tuck a little piece of a doily behind the white cardstock, then assemble the card as shown! Enjoy!
