Hello Stampin’ Friends! Happy Friday! Today I have an adorable little baby card to share with you. This card was created at the request of one of my stampin’ friends. She has been asking me to make a baby card for months…and now I finally have! I hope she enjoys it and I hope you do too! This particular card was created with the Moon Baby stamp set and features a bit of watercoloring. It was inspired by a project showcased in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog.
To make this card, start with a piece of basic gray cardstock for the base of your card. Emboss the front of the card with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. Take a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and stamp the moon baby image onto it using black ink. Cut out the image using one of the Lots of Labels Framelits and your big shot or other embossing machine. Once the image is cut out with the label, stamp a few more stars and a sentiment on it. Grab your watercolor pencils and simply color in the baby and the moon. I used the watercolor pencils with a blender pen. The blender pen allows me to shade the areas and “drag” color across the image to lighten it. I colored in areas that I wanted to “highlight” on the baby using the watercolor pencils and then used the blender pen for lightening and shading. It takes a little bit of practice but it’s a lot of fun to play around with. For the finishing touch, I added some Wink of Stella to the stars and around the moon to make it glitter. Enjoy!
