Hats off to You

guy greetings hatsHere’s another masculine project for you! And yes, I again used the Guy Greetings stamp set and Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper.  Two great products that just seem to work so well together!  For this particular project I wanted to try something a little different.  I used the hats image in the Guy Greetings stamp set to create a fun little background.

To make this project, start with a piece of very vanilla cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of early espresso cardstock and stamp the “hats” image across the cardstock using early espresso ink. Cut a 2 1/8 x 4 inch piece of the plaid paper from the adventure bound designer series paper pack and secure it to the lower half of the card.  I was careful not to cover up the hats! Next, cut out a piece of very vanilla cardstock using the apothecary accent framelit shape (as shown in the pic). I trimmed off the right half of the accent so that it was straight. Stamp the hats image onto this piece using the stamp off technique and cajun craze ink. The stamp off technique involves inking up your stamp, stamping it on a scrap piece of paper and then, without re-inking it, stamping it onto your project. Then simply stamp the sentiments over the top of the hats using early espresso ink.  For the finishing touch, embellish it with a little button and linen thread. Enjoy!
