So let’s talk about the very first new catalog project I have to share with you today! I was immediately drawn to a new stamp set called “Guy Greetings” because I am always looking for images to design masculine cards….and this stamp set has a bunch! My favorite image is this classic car! My family is big into antiques and vintage items so this card will be perfect for my Dad’s birthday in January. Besides the awesome images in this set, there is also a wonderful new set of masculine designer papers, called Adventure Bound, to work with. The colors are fabulous and you will certainly see that with the projects I will share over the course of this week. So…to make this card, I started with a piece of cajun craze cardstock for the base of the card. Emboss the front of the card with the lattice embossing folder (or any of your favorites). Cut a 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch piece of early espresso cardstock and a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock…you will do your stamping on the vanilla piece. Stamp the classic car image using early espresso ink and the happy birthday sentiment using cajun craze (both of these images are in the new Guy Greetings stamp set). Grab some of the Adventure Bound DSP that has the following colors: sahara sand, cajun craze and early espresso. Cut the sahara sand piece to 1 1/4 x 3 inches, the plaid cajun piece to 2 x 3/4 inches and the early espresso piece to 1 x 2 1/2 inches…snip the bottom of each piece to form a banner, then simply layer them as shown. Super simple and very masculine card design to put together. You will love this set so put it on your wish list for January 6th! 🙂
