Language of Love

Today is Valentine’s Day! A celebration of love! And I have a very special dinner planned for me and the hubby. 🙂  Of course I also have a beautiful handmade card that I will be giving to him just to let him know how much I love and appreciate him. Do you have special plans this Valentine’s Day? Why not start out the day by surprising your loved one with a handmade card?  Here’s a great little idea for you….

Notice that I have stamped “love” all over this card! 🙂  To make this card, start out with a piece of blushing bride cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock. Find your favorite “love themed” stamp set and let’s do some heat embossing. Using versa mark, stamp a heart image in the upper left and lower right hand side of the crumb cake cardstock. Then stamp a few smaller heart images on there as well. I used the new Language of Love stamp set but you can use any set that you happen to have on hand. Sprinkle some clear embossing powder on the images and heat. The clear embossing powder takes on the color of your cardstock…pretty cool, hey?

Once you have your images embossed, then just add a little string of banners.  Wrap some baker’s twine around the card a few times and then tie a little bow….I used the new gold baker’s twine. Then just secure the little banner flags with dimensionals along one of the lengths of twine. Now you can cut these little banners by hand, just use your favorite designer paper or…you can get the little banner punch and/or stamp set for FREE with a qualifying order during sale-a-bration.
