Watercolor Wonder ~ Circle Thinlit

Have you seen the Stampin’ Up! thinlits that came out last year?  They came out last summer but you won’t find any information in the annual catalog about them…at least not yet anyways.  There are two different styles of thinlits:  Circle and Label. These little thinlits are perfect for making fancy fold style cards! No measuring, scoring or cutting required..these thinlits do all of that for you so that you can focus on decorating!

To make this card, I simply took a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch piece of pink pirouette cardstock and a 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 inch piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Paper (DSP). Adhere the DSP to the left side of the cardstock and place it into the thinlit die.  There is a trick to using this die if you are wanting to make a regular sized card. Place one half of your cardstock underneath the circle part of the die  and bring the other half through the center so that it rests on top of the other half of the die (see pic above…note I am showing you the technique on the labels die but it is the same technique whether you use the labels or circle dies).  If you do not bring this piece up through the middle, you will still have a fancy fold card…it will just be shorter because the thinlit will cut anything that is underneath it (except for the circle…it will score  and cut out around the circle).  Run your cardstock through the big shot and fold on the score lines.  Then simply decorate your fancy fold card anyway you like!  I added a few petite flowers,a butterfly and a little hello sentiment. I also did a bit of paper piercing on the circle…by the way, the 2 1/2 inch circle punch fits perfectly on this circle thinlit!  Check out Stampin’ Up’s video tutorial!
