Creepy Crawly Halloween

Well here is a “cool” Halloween card that my hubby actually likes! Haha! He is one of my toughest critics sometimes so when he likes one of my cards, I get excited! 🙂

To make this card, start with a piece of Summer Starfruit cardstock for the base of the card.  Yep…I said summer starfruit!  The color is a great Halloween color because it actually looks greenish yellow when you decorate it up with the contrasting black and orange colors. Not sure why the color intensifies…but it really looks cool!

Despite what you may be thinking…this card is a very simply design. The background is simply a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Witches Brew Designer Series Paper. I added a few scrap pieces of designer paper across the center and left side of the card…and, of course, I added a bit of the Witches Brew washi tape. The only stamping is on the “label” framelit. I stamped the creepy crawly image in black and then restamped the image on a scrap piece of paper in pumpkin pie. Then I cut out the orange (pumpkin pie) “creepy” word by hand and secured it over the original image that I had stamped in black. I did a bit of paper piercing around the stamped image as well. The final touch to the card comes from cutting out a larger labels framelit, in pumpkin pie, and securing it to the right side of the card. Then I simply embossed a piece of black cardstock and covered up half of the pumpkin pie framelit. It’s a very creepy crawly “manly” kind of card. 🙂
