Vintage Postcard

As you may already know….I am a huge fan of vintage style cards and projects!  Soooo….naturally I had to have the new Postcard stamp from the moment I saw it!  And…it goes perfect with the Postage Due stamp set!

The cardstock color used for the base of this card is calypso coral. For the stamping…I started out with a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock and began by first stamping the postcard image in crumb cake (light brown). The postcard stamp serves as the background image for this card. I wanted to add a bit more to the background on this card so I decided to stamp the large image from the postage due set, in so saffron (yellow), over the top of the postcard image.  This gave the background just the right amount of color contrast.  Next, I wanted to add a bit more splash of color to the card…to do so, I simply stamped the postage images in 3 different colors:  calypso coral, pool party and so saffron. I punched out the images with the coordinating postage punch and adhered them to the left side of the card with dimensionals. The final touch was simply to add some type of sentiment…I thought the “hello there” greeting was perfect for a post card!

I loved this card so much that I actually re-worked it a bit so that I can use it for an organized swap that I joined at next week’s stamping up convention. I added some designer paper, torn the left side of the card to give it a worn look, added a bit of washi tape on the top, some linen thread, a button and changed out the sentiment.

Here is the re-worked version 🙂
