Loving Thoughts

So far during the month of June, I have been enjoying myself tremendously as I play with all of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog products that I purchased!  Whoop Whoop!! There are sooooo many awesome products and just not enough time in the day to do everything that I want…especially since I have a full-time nursing job that keeps me busy (besides my stamping)! I have been in New York for the last couple of days for a national nursing meeting…but before I left, I managed to put together a few projects and pics for all of you!

This project was inspired by a card I saw in one of the Stampin’ Up! catalogs!  I loved the idea of cutting out one of those awesome apothecary accents and then adding a few colored butterflies!  Of course I had to use one of those cool little paper piercing templates too…I love the look of projects that use paper piercing! Did you notice the costal cabana cardstock?  This is a new color and I simply love it!  I have already gone through a pack of this cardstock in just a few short weeks!  Almost all of he products used on this card are brand new! Can you figure out which retired products I used? If you said, ruffled ribbon, then you are correct!  I was sad to see the ruffled ribbon retire but we certainly got an awesome replacement…new ruffled stretch trim…check it out here!

Ooops…I got a bit off track so let’s get back to talking about this card!  So the colors used in the card are So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Costal Cabana. The sentiment comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set which carried over from one of the previously published SU catalogs! I also tucked in a bit of This & That Designer Series Paper behind the Chevron embossed Costal Cabana cardstock.  And finally, the butterflies are embellished with vintage faceted buttons!  Fun and simple card to make!
