All Dressed Up ~ Wedding

A few weeks ago I attended a stamping event held by one of my downline, Debbie Jorns! It was a wonderful event, full of simply awesome stampin’ ideas!  Here is one of my favorite cards from the event…which, by the way, I am sending out for an upcoming wedding this month!

The card is designed with the “Dressed Up” and “Apothecathy Accents” framelits…and…I learned a new technique for using the framelits (which, hopefully I am able to explain on here).  We started out by embossing the whisper white cardstock with the, now retired, elegant lines embossing folder. We cut out two apothecary accents…one in black and one in gray…they serve as the backdrop for the beautiful wedding dress. And, of course, we embossed the gray accent using the elegant lines embossing folder.

The dress was cut out of silver glimmer paper. The very cool part of the dress cutting…the glimmer paper was cut to fit the framelit! The purpose for doing this is to make the dress longer than what the framelit actually cuts.  Here are the instructions from Debbie: When cutting your paper to fit framelit…measure the glitter piece width so it just fits thru bottom of dress framelit, the length is your choice. To cut: Slide glitter piece thru bottom of framelit from the front side, so bottom of paper is on top of framelit and top of paper is under framelit. It will cut entire dress out except the bottom. Pull apart, insert again, this time from back side of dress bottom, to desired length, to cut bottom of dress only. Wha la, you now have a long dress! You may need to trim the sides to form figure of dress.

One the dress was cut, we just embellished it with a bit of ribbon and tulle!  Simply stunning!  Thanks so much for sharing the technique with us Debbie!
