The fourth card in my birthday bash series was inspired by a card my daughter put together a few weeks ago using the floral framelits. I decided to change up the card a bit and use the framelits as a “window” to the inside of the card. This was hugely popular at the birthday bash because of how I used the floral framelit.
I began by placing the floral framelit on the lower half of the bashful blue and wisteria wonder cardstock. Make sure you open up your card so that you are only cutting through one layer of the wisteria wonder cardstock. The framelit will cut up to 2 layers of cardstock so you can easily lay the blue piece ontop of the purple. I recommend cutting out the floral shape first and then embossing the blue piece of cardstock. If you emboss first and then cut out the shape the big shot will flatten your embossing.
Once you have finished using the framelits and embossing the blue piece, add the bow and then secure to the purple card front making sure to align the floral design. The stamp set is called “Just Believe” and is one of my favorite silhouette sets! I stamped the silhoutte on whisper white cardstock, first in bashful blue and then in perfect plum.
Next, I heat embossed the “happy birthday” using black embossing powder. The whisper white cardstock is then secured to the inside of the card so that the sentiment and silhoutte images show through the floral framelit. Then just embellish with pearls and flower trim! Simple, yet elegant card!
