Chalkboard Technique ~ Vintage

A few days ago a shared one of the first projects I created this week with the chalkboard technique.  This time I decided to get a bit fancier! 🙂  I received the “I Am” stamp set by attending the July 2012 Annual Stampin’ Up! Convention and just didn’t have a chance to use it yet.  I thought it would be a great set to use for the chalkboard technique since that was the theme throughout the convention.  I also wanted to design a few cards for my downline as they have just been on a roll so far this quarter!

As most of you know, I just love the look of vintage.  The Labels framelits are great for achieving that vintage look! I started by embossing my image, in white, on a piece of black cardstock. Once embossed, I cut out the image using one of the labels framelits. The chalkboard look comes from rubbing white craft ink around the image and the outside of the labels framelit (using a sponge dabber).  Then, I just embellished the card with paper doilies, ribbon, antique brads and a few flowers.  Try it out!
